The plan was to meet a guy in the city. Hartford said otherwise. Woke up, took the bus, no bus back. Classic city girl situation.

Issue 02 — Akash's graduation · Dunkin' Park · the 1am bus

Akash graduated from medical school. There were two babies, a rooftop bar, in-laws who actually liked each other, and a Greyhound that only goes one way. {{ busStandfirst }}

I — The
Graduation

"Just stay for drinks," they said. "Just one drink," I said. The 9pm bus was already gone by the time I agreed.

There were two babies at the party. Small, funny, unbothered by the graduation. I spent a lot of time with them. At some point between the rooftop and the second drink I remembered I don’t actually want a hookup — I want something real. Hartford will do that to you. Take away the city noise and suddenly you know what you’re looking for.

II — Dunkin'

From inside it feels chaotic. From above it's an expansion.

Hartford looked like a detour. Missed bus, wrong city, no plan. From far enough above, it was exactly where the spiral needed to go.
